Port Hedland - nothing here!

It's pretty sad when you get to the information centre for a town and they tell you, "there is not much to see, wrong time for staircase to the moon viewing, past turtle season; there are the salt mines and the long trains, but you probably saw them on your drive in." Well, yes, we did; but it was a good chance for a break and to catch up on the washing and groceries etc after Karigini. This was important after so much red dust and our only baths being in the rock pools! It was also the only place so far where there was a sign warning not to swim at the beach as a crocodile had been sighted in the area!

Look carefully...can you see the train? You can see the beginning and quite a lot of carriages in this shot but we couldn't even see the end with our full view from the car!
